About STLViewer

What STLViewer is

STLViewer is a web application forviewing and sharing 3D models in STL and 3MF formats. It runs in the browser using WebGL and Three.js, so there is nothing to install and no plugin to manage.

We built it because every other viewer we used either required an account for basic preview, leaked files through public CDNs, or require native app download. STLViewer fills the gap: drop a file in, get a link out, done.

How privacy works

Every upload produces a unique share link. Only people with that link can view the model. We do not publish, index, or list shared models anywhere on the site — our sitemap and robots.txt explicitly exclude them.

Anonymous uploads are bound to short-lived, single-use upload tokens. Authenticated users can manage their models from the dashboard and delete them at any time; deletions are queued and the file is removed from storage asynchronously.

Who builds it

STLViewer is built and maintained by an independent developer. Development is funded by optional donations through Buy Me a Coffee and by sponsorships of new features.
